Learning a new language takes time and dedication

Learning a new language takes time and dedication, but the benefits can be lifelong. Earlier this year 33 public servants and 16 people with disabilities were supported to improve their English language skills through a short course program funded by the Australian Government.

On the 9th October they came together to celebrate their achievement with Certificates of Completion given out by Australia’s Charge d ’Affairs, Philippa Venning at the Xanana Reading rooms. The academic English language training was designed as a pathway to education, jobs, and career development and has already helped some short course students to find new work opportunities.
